Rain snuffing out the ashes of summer
Rain snuffing out the ashes of summer
Temperature of the fiery sky plummets
Trees succumb to the shock of deluge
Petrified leaves bleed green blood
abandon their masts and fall away
Drift into piles of ghostly droves
Only to be replaced by jack frost
As a river town turns in on itself
As boats get wrapped away for winter
Layers of insulation hides young ladies' fading tans
When warm winds wince at the cold front approaching
