Complacency of a white town
Complacency of a white town
Nothing to bring me up or down
Biking excursions without a helmet
Empty main street cellmate
Recorded bells patriot the hours
The game of justice for lost souls
In conservative hellholes
The blight of ghost towns around
With a hospital on the ridge so high
For when they're sick and gonna die
With their bloody Savior on a cross
Damn the workers, bless the boss
A few rainbows and lots of mountain dew
Everything dyed red, white and blue
Conformity of the home bound senior
Nothing remarkable hanging around
Hunkering down in a riverside town
A place to retire and visit grandchildren
Maintenance forstalling disintegration
As privileged neighbors tear apart the nation
Passing the mess to the next generation
First under an openly fascist regime
Ripe for revolution bursting at the seams
As I sit and rock on the porch swing
Not waiting for anything
