New York won't unravel
New York won't unravel
For a petty Pittsburgh poet
It's long since been forgotten
By Wall Street politicians
Savvy with sidewalk regulations
The underground remains impossible
Every day's a challenge
Wild ones weaving culture
Into every shoeless transient
Students slammed for thinking
A zoo of social stratas
Hard to keep from crying
While most of it is dying
Those heavy dark ashes
Are not from this Phoenix's fatal gashes
Everything around us cannot
Nothing around here matters
As the dynasty crumbles away
Love is all that matters
At the end of the day
