Soon baseball will be done
Soon baseball will be done
No more leaves on trees
Grassy frost left unattended till spring
A bridge may collapse under the weight
Of snowdrifts, whisky, and vapes
Soon someone will ruin his family
Self-destruct helplessly
The wind will tear down a house
As we rake leaves into brown bags
The salt that will go on the sidewalk and stoop
A shovels will remove what's in the way
To slip on another season of icy rinks
Soon as the world series is over
Dreamy fields of endless games end
Remain of land grabbing gridirons
The game in the Autumn of America
