Beaver in the River Valley
Beaver in the River Valley
Held its breath so long
Till the summer exhaled
Stunning branches from the calm
When train whistles can be traced
In a peaceful town of locals
Crossroads without haste
The puzzling lay of the land
Women canning, baking cakes
Colors when leaves are exploding
Biking to Brady's Run Lake
As the cool autumn wind takes hold
I have made myself at home
Playing my part in Brooklyn character
Where grandkids are being grown
October. 2022
