Where Does the River Go?

Where does the river go

just around the bend?

 no further north into the tundra

 so there is a way back in

Where peace of mind

gets washed on rocks 

carries me to a stream to swim,

Never too cold to dream.

when I close my eyes 

Indelible images 

of poems and photos faded,

cleansed to live again 

my own pace stroking away

Through the tangled forest 

of overgrown banks

the midstream calm within

soft like rainbows ringing

 mist softens my eyes,

what looks like morning dew

i have done all that i could

i now pass the baton to you
