Like a Toddler Clings to His Mother

like a toddler clings to his mother

when he's had all he can take

gets cranky

when it is time for bed

then dreams like i do till awake

to cry like a child

who has lost his dear mama

who must have whisky 

all the while

to make himself smile

till she comes 

comforting child and dad 

full circle 

for there's no mama's heart

that won't start 

when her babes become 

dangerous to wait

cannot take a moment

without her
