My, How the Weather Changes
My how the weather changes
How frozen rain cracks the earth.
Deflates tires when barometers drop.
Naturally lingers into winter.
Ah, to wake up on warming mornings
Feeling close to flying like egrets
squawking, leaded my case of regret
But the end season has been met.
Hold hope's breath.
she closes her cage door.
Left the day die dying in bed,
daylight comes.
Each winter night in bed,
All winter in bed alone
Where outside gray skies
delay the spring.
Leave me sleepless.
watching bare branches
Scratching dusty bedroom windows
Fangs of icicle crusted eaves.
Chilly daggers stabbing my heart
Yes, one leaf remains,
trapped beneath
incoming blossoms
Hidden numbers
Masked by her charity.
