Freight Train Ohio

show me the Ohio gorged in spring

bending at the cracker plant

muddied by downpours

endless rolls of cold dark clouds 

then the weather clears 

skies couldn't be bluer 

the humming engine cannot mar

that long train running through Monaca 

watch it disappear on its way

they are freight only cargo, 

both trains running with baggage

when will one arrive?
