Pasting cupcake flowers

on green paper stems

listening to stories of rainbows 

from storm clouds.

Can we recognize them before they fade?

feel the sunshine on gray days,

Walk, grandpa, with the stroller

on the corner hold his hand

to the next curb of adventure

Be the dream he continued

when your mom was very young

He needs a baby hug too

Ten hours with grandchildren

 better than an hour alone.
